Florida prep point guard pulls off potential Pass of the Year contender on travel circuit

YouTube user JM Basketball Videos called this Keyshawn Evans assist "the Pass of the Year," and he might be right. The Class of 2015 point guard unleashed a between-the-legs alley-oop to Each 1 Teach 1 travel teammate Anthony Lawrence that I'm still trying to figure out after watching it 100 times.

Oddly, Evans led his Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage High team over Lawrence's St. Petersburg Lakewood squad in the Class 5A state title game last month. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Evans earned MVP honors for his 25-point, six-assist performance in a 98-70 victory, leading the Panthers (28-7) to their first state championship and helping set a state record for points in a final.

With Evans at the helm, it's no wonder coach Charlie Stephenson promoted his team as "Showtime Heritage" in an homage to Magic Johnson's 1980s Lakers. And maybe Evans was simply offering an olive branch with this pass to his E1T1 teammate for serving him such a severe whupping in the title game.

Now, if you're wondering how someone who can pull off such an assist could be currently unranked by Rivals.com, consider that Evans missed his entire sophomore season and summer after an ACL injury. He appears to have rehabbed just fine, and opposing defenders are left as stumped as I am as a result.
