What to watch: Day 14 at the Olympics
Here's a rundown of the key competitions to watch on Day 14 at the Olympics. The events can be live-streamed on NBC's Olympics website.
Day 14 — Friday, August 10, 2012
Team USA basketball hits the court Friday against its international rival Argentina at 4 p.m. ET. Jaws dropped when Argentina toppled the U.S. in the 2004 Athens Olympic Semifinal and went on to win gold. Team USA will be out for revenge, especially after Facundo Campazzo's cheap shot against Carmelo Anthony in last week's preliminary—which Team USA won 126-97.

Russia and Spain will duke it out in a 12 p.m. ET men's basketball semifinal. Russia defeated Spain in pool play, but many consider Spain the better team with its world-class big men Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol and Serge Ibaka. Will Russia continue its hot streak or will Spain advance to the gold-medal game for the second Olympics in a row?
In track and field news, the U.S. men will race for gold in the 4x400-meter relay at 4:20 p.m. ET. Manteo Mitchell helped America tie for first in the preliminaries, when he heroically finished his lap with a broken left fibula, still posting a solid time of 46.1 seconds. He'll have to watch from the stands on Friday but will earn a medal if the U.S. wins. Other track and field finals include the men's pole vault at 2 p.m. ET, women's hammer throw at 2:35 p.m. ET, women's 5,000-meter at 3:05 p.m. ET, women's 4x100-meter relay at 3:40 p.m. ET, and women's 1,500-meter at 3:55 p.m. ET.

It's been 44 years since an Asian soccer team has taken home an Olympic medal, but that will change Friday when South Korea faces Japan in a 2:45 p.m. ET bronze-medal match. The South Korean squad has had a tough time scoring, finishing only three goals in the entire tournament and tallying only one shot in its 3-0 semifinal loss to Brazil. You'll remember that Japan upset mighty Spain in its opener, but ran out of steam in a 3-1 semifinal loss to Mexico.
Fans of BMX have a big Friday ahead, with the women's final at 11:30 a.m. ET. and the men's final at 11:40 a.m. ET. The Dutch men's team, a dark horse going into the Games, has become a leading contender. Keep an eye on Dutch rider Raymon van der Biezen, a Beijing Olympic veteran who's battled a broken hand, eye socket and jaw over the last few years. He appears be healed up, having won Wednesday's time trials.
