The most hotly anticipated event of the day will be the women's soccer gold-medal game featuring the U.S. and Japan — a rematch of the 2011 World Cup final. The Americans are looking for redemption from that game, which Japan won on penalty kicks. Start time is 2:45 p.m. ET. Yahoo! Sports will offer a live chat here of the game starting at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The bronze-medal match between France and Canada will take place at 8 a.m. ET.
On the track, all eyes will be on the men's 200-meter race at 3:55 p.m. ET as Jamaica's Usain Bolt attempts to become the only man to win both the 100m and 200m races in back-to-back Olympics. Wallace Spearmon will be the U.S.'s only hope in the race, which also features the 100m silver medalist Yohan Blake of Jamaica. Yahoo! Sports' live chat of the race will start at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The decathlon, which held five events on Wednesday, will hold its final five events, starting with the 110m hurdles at 4 a.m. ET and ending with the 1500m at 4:20 p.m. ET. World-record holder American Ashton Eaton is currently sitting in first place, with fellow American Trey Hardee in second.

Other medal events in track and field include men's triple jump at 2:20 p.m. ET, which will see two Americans competing in the group of 12, including Will Claye, who has already won the bronze in the long jump. Two Americans will also run in the eight-man 800 meters field at 3 p.m. ET, but no Americans are competing in the women's javelin at 4 p.m. ET.
The U.S. women's water polo will also play to determine the color of their hardware in the gold-medal match at 3 p.m. ET against Spain. The Americans are seeking their first gold medal.

The women's basketball team plays Australia in the semifinals at noon ET, while the women's volleyball team plays South Korea in the semifinals at 10 a.m. ET. The Americans already defeated the Koreans in four sets during the group stage.
Women's 10-meter platform diving will host semifinals at 5 a.m. ET and the finals at 2 p.m. ET.
Rhythmic gymnastics starts with qualifying for the individual all-around at 7 a.m. ET and qualifying for group competition at 9:50 a.m. ET.
