The Olympics are coming ... it's Al Trautwig time!

If there is one broadcaster who people most associate with the Olympics, it's probably Bob Costas. For me though, nothing says Olympics like the dulcet tones of Al Trautwig.

Since 2000, Trautwig (pictured on the right) has been NBC's lead voice for its gymnastics coverage, alongside Elfi Schlagel and Tim Daggett. (By the way, I think NBC should consider creating a gymnastics wrap-up show, and naming it "Al and Elfi After Dark.")

Trautwig does a great job for NBC, and he also does solid work for MSG and Versus, but I first noticed his work (and you probably did too) a long time ago ... in Cool Runnings.

Al is the lead broadcaster in the movie. He is the one who excitedly states, "Watch out world, the Jamaicans are coming!"

Ever since the movie came out in 1993, I have associated Trautwig with the Olympics. I can't wait to see what he has to say from Beijing.

If you want to see some of his work from Cool Runnings, watch this clip. You'll catch a glimpse of the man himself, around the 2:05 mark.
