Adrian has come to the world's notice with a trio of amazing performances at these Games. He led off for the 4x100-meter freestyle relay team that won silver, out-touched world champion James "the Missile" Magnussen of Australia for the 100m free title, and then anchored the gold medal-winning medley relay team in Michael Phelps' final swim.

But it's his off-field demeanor that has us crushing. Here are four reasons why Adrian is so adorable:
1. He can make fun of himself.
Check out his role in USA Swimming's "Call Me Maybe" video. While Phelps bounces his head to the beat (the cool guy) and Lochte throws a kiss to the camera (the flirty guy), Adrian writes, "Call me maybe" on his hands and displays them with a laugh (the cheesy guy).
2. He has overcome "adversity."
At the 2012 Indianapolis Grand Prix, Adrian was on the blocks for the final of the 100m free when he felt his skintight swimsuit tear. Right down his backside. Adrian had no choice — he had to swim. Despite the wardrobe malfunction, he still won the event (and beat Phelps in the process). Luckily for him, someone handed him a towel to cover up before he left the pool. "Bending over on the block and feeling that snap is never a good feeling," a chuckling Adrian said after the race.

3. He's low-key.
With his events over in London, Adrian hit the town with several other high-profile U.S. swimmers. And we love that while the rest of the swimmers are wearing fashionable clothes, Adrian's clubbing attire consists of…a T-shirt. Bearing the U.S. Olympic team logo.
4. He's kind of a dork.
Adrian goes to open houses to check out the nicer homes in his neighborhood, can't resist Funfetti cupcakes, and plays with remote-controlled helicopters (yeah, we've done our research).
Face it -- the more you learn about him, the more adorable he gets.
