    Ethiopian runner has to be taken off track in a wheelchair (PHOTO)

    (AP)Steeplechase is a tough event, whether in equestrian or track and field. Ethiopian Birhan Getahun found that out the hard way during the opening rounds of the run Friday.

    While attempting to jump a hurdle in the race that includes leaping hurdles and running through water hazards, Getahun slammed his leg into a hurdle. He collapsed to the ground, and was unable to continue the 3,000m race. Medical officials had to take him off the course in a wheelchair.
