Don't forget about Wallace Spearmon

When Tyson Gay fell to the track in the semis of the 200m at the Olympic Trials, it seemed as if all hope was lost for the U.S. in the 200. Knowing the depth that the U.S. had always had at sprinting, I knew that there had to be someone behind Gay, ready to take the lead.

I was right. It's Wallace Spearmon.

Most of the sprint discussions include Gay, Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt. Spearmon is left out, even though he has the fourth fastest 200m time in history at 19.65. Bolt is close with 19.67, but Powell's fastest is a 19.90. His closest competition was Gay, but with him out, there is no reason to believe that Spearmon won't come home with Olympic gold.
