Zac Rinaldo rocks Tom Wilson with huge check (Video)

Zac Rinaldo of the Boston Bruins is known for his big hits. Some of them are legal. Many of them are illegal.

But this one, delivered on Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson along the boards? No penalty, and one of the strongest checks of the season.

(The Capitals were subsequently penalized for the retaliation.)

In the first period, the Capitals forward collected the puck in his own zone along the boards. Rinaldo was motoring in on the forecheck and rocked Wilson with a hit that knocked his helmet loose.

Sure, he traveled some distance, but that’s not a charge.

Just a good hit. A good clean hit. By Zac Rinaldo. We’re as surprised as you are.
