Video: Keith Yandle's two-handed slash on Corey Perry

In yet another chippy game between the Anaheim and Phoenix, things started up late in the second period when after taking two checks to the back from Corey Perry(notes), Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle(notes) gave the Ducks forward a two-handed slash that caught his wrist:

Perry returned for the third period of Anaheim's 6-2 loss, but the rough stuff continued as Bobby Ryan(notes) would later take an interference penalty with a bruising hit on Yandle, who was nowhere near the puck at the time, while Matt Beleskey(notes) and Vernon Fiddler(notes) scrapped in the aftermath. Fiddler would leave game immediately with an upper-body injury.

After the game, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle told the Orange County Register that he expects the video of Yandle's slash to reach Colin Campbell:

“We got angry when Yandle slashed Corey Perry,” Carlyle said. “It was a pretty vicious slash, kind of a baseball swing at his hand. I’m sure they’ll be looking at that. That got people a little upset.”

As the Register noted, the Ducks have been on the end of some tough outings against the Coyotes. Shane Doan's(notes) hit on Dan Sexton(notes) got him suspended for three games back in October. The Phoenix captain would also send Cam Fowler(notes) into the boards during that game, breaking the rookie's nose.

And lastly, when the two teams last met on Dec. 28, Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf(notes) took a deflected puck to the face and hasn't played since.
