Midway through the first period of Tuesday night's Detroit-San Jose game with the Red Wings holding a 1-0 lead, Pavel Datsyuk(notes) added yet another highlight to his long list of "wow" clips he's amassed over his career.

Receiving a Brian Rafalski(notes) pass at center ice, Datsyuk proceeded to split Sharks defensemen Justin Braun(notes) and Marc-Edouard Vlasic(notes), retain the puck and slide it past Antero Niittymaki(notes):

Yeah, that was pretty.

Vlasic's not going to earn any Norris Trophy votes for putting most of his concentration towards Danny Cleary(notes) along the wing.

Datsyuk is already a master of embarrassing goaltenders with ridiculous shootout/breakaway moves. Now that he's set his sights on opposing defensemen, we can all be witnesses to more highlight-reel goals from the Wings' forward.
