Troy Brouwer bats puck out of mid-air for gorgeous goal (Video)

ST. LOUIS – Troy Brouwer continued his big postseason run with a gorgeous goal in the first period of Game 5 between the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks.

Blues forward Paul Stastny drove into the Sharks’ zone and fired a shot on goaltender Martin Jones who made the initial save.

On the rebound left by Jones, the puck seemed to knuckle in mid-air before Brouwer caught it flush and fired it past Jones.

The goal came at the 15:08 mark of the first period and put St. Louis up 2-1.

Brouwer, a pending unrestricted free agent, has been on fire this postseason with a team-leading eight goals in 19 games.

“Coming into this playoffs, I had a lot of expectations on me this year,” Brouwer said after he scored two goals in Game 4. “With what (GM Doug Armstrong) expected from me when he traded for me, telling me that my season was going to be judged on how I handled myself, how I played in the playoffs, down the stretch.  When you have expectations like that on you, you want to perform your best.”
