No. 1 Star: Marian Gaborik(notes), New York Rangers

In the first game of a home-and-home between the Rangers and New York Islanders, Gaborik tallied a hat trick and an assist in a 6-5 win. After the Islanders scored twice in 1:41 span in the third period to tie the game at five, Gaborik completed his 12th career trick scoring 25 seconds after Blake Comeau's(notes) fourth of the season. Aiding Gaborik in his success was Sean Avery(notes), who was playing with the Slovakian sniper for the first time. Avery recorded three assists on the night, two of which were on Gaborik goals. Henrik Lundqvist(notes) made nine saves in relief of Martin Biron(notes) as the Rangers won for the fifth time in seven games.

No. 2 Star: Sidney Crosby(notes), Pittsburgh Penguins

The day after he was named the NHL's first start for the month of November, Crosby recorded his second hat trick in three games as Pittsburgh beat the Atlanta Thrashers 3-2 for their eighth straight win. It was the first natural hat trick of Crosby's career and second straight game at CONSOL Energy Center with a three-goal performance. Crosby's 21 goals now tie him with Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos(notes) for the NHL lead. Marc-Andre Fleury(notes) made 20 saves for his seventh straight victory.

No. 3 Star: Andrew Raycroft(notes), Dallas Stars

Giving Kari Lehtonen(notes) the night off, Raycroft shut down the high-powered Washington Capitals offense with a 37-save performance during a 2-1 Stars win. Twenty seconds after Mike Knuble(notes) tied the game at one in the third period, Brandon Segal(notes) broke the deadlock putting the Stars up for good. Dallas improved to 7-0-1 in their last eight home games. Washington thought they had scored the tying goal with 7.6 seconds remaining, but it was waived off because of goaltender interference:

Honorable mention: Logan Couture(notes) scored twice and Antti Niemi(notes) made 28 saves as San Jose blanked Ottawa 4-0. Returning to Ottawa for the first time since demanding a trade, Dany Heatley(notes) recorded an assist and drew two penalties that led to power play goals for the Sharks ... David Krejci(notes) and Michael Ryder(notes) each had three-point nights and Tim Thomas(notes) made 37 saves as Boston routed Tampa Bay 8-1. Patrice Bergeron(notes) played his 400th NHL game and Marc Savard(notes) returned to the Bruins lineup after missing 23 games with post-concussion symptons ... In his Capitals debut, Scott Hannan(notes) blocked four shots ... Carey Price(notes) made 27 saves and Lars Eller(notes) scored a goal and added an assist as Montreal defeated New Jersey 5-1. It took Brian Gionta(notes) 11 seconds to score the game's opening goal and another 1:20 for Eller to give the Canadiens an early 2-0 lead ... Jonathan Quick(notes) made 24 saves to snap a three-game losing streak and Peter Harrold(notes) and Anze Kopitar(notes) scored twice in the third period as the Los Angeles Kings beat Florida 3-2. Kopitar's goal with 2:43 remaining was his ninth of the season ... Nikolai Khabibulin(notes) made 33 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Edmonton Oilers beat Toronto 3-0 for their third straight win. Jordan Eberle(notes) recorded three points and Taylor Hall(notes) scored twice in the win ... Senators fans showed their feelings towards Dany Heatley all game long:

Did you know? Dallas is 16-4-3 against Washington since moving from Minnesota in 1993.

Dishonorable mention: The Islanders power play has not capitalized in their last 30 opportunities ... Atlanta's six-game winning streak was snapped against Pittsburgh ...Mike Smith(notes) allowed five goals on 22 shots before being pulled ... After a hot start, it appears Steven Stamkos has cooled off a bit with a fourth straight game without a goal ... Johan Hedberg(notes) was pulled after allowing two goals on three shots in the opening 1:38 against Montreal ... Toronto was shutout for the sixth time this season.
