Terminix gives next player who scores on Tuukka Rask extermination for life
Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask recently had the bizarre honor of having a species of wasp named for him in Kenya – Thaumatodryinus tuukkaraski – as the team that discovered the insects had a Bruins fan among them.
As you know, the sworn enemy of the wasp is the exterminator, or Exterminatus Poisoninsectus. So when Terminix got wind of this honor for Rask, it decided to take a stand against wasps and all of their evil pestering by supporting those who wish to leave Rask feeling stung.
Terminix announced it’s offering free extermination services for life to the next NHL player who beats Rask for a goal:
“We’re in the business of defeating bugs. That’s why we’re offering free Terminix services for life to the next player who scores on professional hockey player Tuukka Rask, who had a species of wasp named for him this week.
“You heard right: The next player to light the lamp on ‘The Wasp’ never has to worry about bugs again!”
We called; it's legit. The reward is capped at $1,000 per year. Which sounds like a lot of dead bugs to us.
Silly public relations pitch? Absolutely, but we’re always willing to hand out points for creativity. And as wacky as Rask getting a species of wasp named after him was, the next player to score on him getting free bug assassination services for life is an appropriate response.
Rask isn’t expected to play against the New Jersey Devils on Friday night, which means his next game could come against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Which is great, because we assume a few of those guys probably have scorpion infestations.
