Alex Ovechkin collides with Capitals teammate Jack Hillen in scary scene (Video)

Alex Ovechkin is mostly man, but he's also partly truck. At 6'3", 230 lbs., any collision with him, whether he initiates it or the other guy does, is going to hurt. Badly.

This is a lesson that teammate Jack Hillen learned the hard way Tuesday night in the Washington Capitals all-important game versus the Los Angeles Kings. In overtime, with Hillen carrying the puck through the middle of the ice and gaining speed, Ovechkin turned back, so as to join the rush.

But Ovechkin misjudged where he was, badly, and the defender collided with the Capitals' captain in a scary scene at the Verizon Center:

Hillen was out for what seemed like an eternity before, fortunately, leaving for the room of his own accord. That's a good sign.

He (and the rest of the Washington faithful) will probably be encouraged to know Ovechkin appeared to be okay as well. There are lots of guys that would like to take Ovechkin out of the game with a big, clean open-ice check. But not when he's your own captain.

More distressing news for the Capitals: they only picked up one point on the night, falling to the Kings in the shootout. Fortunately, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost, and the Capitals moved into a four-way tie atop the Wild Card race.
