Down 3-1 to Calgary, the Red Wings staged a third period comeback to force overtime thanks to a pair of Henrik Zetterberg(notes) goals, including the game-tying tally with 3.2 seconds remaining in regulation. In the overtime, it was the Captain capping off a three-point night by coming through to complete the Detroit comeback in a 5-4 win over the Flames:
Another game, another overtime winner. This one came off the stick of Byfuglien to give the Thrashers a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders. Byfuglien assisted on Nik Antropov's(notes) goal in the second period and then tallied his seventh goal of the season 1:30 into the extra period:
Ondrej Pavalec made 28 saves for his second straight win.
With their five-game winning streak on the line, Taylor Pyatt(notes) haunted his former team by scoring his second goal of the night 5:52 into the third period to break a 2-2 tie as the Coyotes went on to slip past the Vancouver Canucks 3-2. Ilya Bryzgalov(notes) stopped 25 shots for his fifth straight win. Phoenix swept their Western Canadian road trip with wins over Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.
Honorable mention: Jarome Iginla scored twice and added an assist for the Flames and now has eight points in his past four games ... The Detroit power play was 3-for-7 on the night ... Tom Gilbert(notes) and Ales Hemsky(notes) each scored and added an assist as Edmonton downed Anaheim 4-2. Gilbert didn't actually score his goal. He was credited for the goal when Corey Perry's(notes) pass glided down the ice and into the Ducks' empty net late in the third period. Devan Dubnyk(notes) made 38 saves, including 19 in the first period.

Dishonorable mention: Corey Perry: Worst pass of the year winner ... The Islanders loss gives them a 0-12-1 record in their last 13 games. In their past six games, their power play has gone 0-for-24 ... The officials in the Oilers-Ducks game mistakenly gave Theo Peckham(notes) a two-minute penalty for a puck over the glass, when in actuality the puck left the ice surface through a photographer hole in the glass. After the game, a senior NHL official told the Oilers the on-ice officials made the wrong call. Bobby Ryan(notes) of the Ducks would score eight seconds after the penalty was called.
