Steven Stamkos’ BioSteel camp shootout goal might be only NHL-related highlight for a while (VIDEO)

After yesterday's end to the CBA negotiations between the League and the PA, the idea of seeing NHL players in meaningful action on time was put in serious doubt as a "recess" was called between the two sides. Now we're left with news about how some NHLers might contemplate playing in Europe should there be a work stoppage.

This week in Aurora, Ont. was the annual BioSteel camp, featuring NHL stars like Steven Stamkos, Tyler Seguin, James Neal and P.K. Subban training under the watchful eye of Matt Nichol and the Gary (Too Much Man) Roberts. On Friday, the players were split up into four teams: Team Stamkos, Team (Stephen) Weiss, Team (Mike) Cammalleri, and Team Seguin for a round-robin scrimmage.

In the matchup between Stamkos' and Seguin's squads, the reigning Rocket Richard Trophy winner put home this beauty during the shootout in a losing effort:

Poor Eddie Pasquale had no chance.

This is obviously Stamkos comfort move -- one he made famous back during the OHL Skills Competition in 2007 -- and not whatever he was thinking of doing against Marc-Andre Fleury in 2011.

It's now Sept. 1. The current CBA expires two weeks from today. Training camps are still scheduled ... for now. Let's hope we're not scouring YouTube for European hockey highlights in a few weeks and instead arguing over who's going to be the second defense pairing on our favorite team's power play.
