COLUMBUS, Ohio – Zdeno Chara’s hardest shot torch has officially been passed on … to Shea Weber.

The Nashville Predators blueliner, and three-time runner-up blasted a howitzer that registered at 108.5 mph for Team Toews to give the group the mark for the skills competition.

This bested Weber’s personal best of 106.0 mph set in 2012 in Ottawa. It did not beat Chara’s All-Star mark of 108.8 mph also set in Ottawa.

There was a little bit of drama. Weber's first shot at 101.8 mph missed the net, and did not count.

"It's not right," Dustin Byfuglien said of Weber's shot. "Guys have to get hit with that thing. It's amazing. He works on that thing. When your sticks are shooting good that's what you get."

FINAL RESULTS:

Shea Weber 101.8 mph – misses net does not count, 108.5 mph

Alexander Ovechkin 101.4 mph, 101.4 mph

Steven Stamkos 98.8 mph, 97.5 mph

Brent Seabrook 96.9 mph, 98.6 mph

Brent Burns 93.3 mph 97.6 mph

Dustin Byfuglien 95.8 mph 97.3 mph

Aaron Ekblad 95.3 mph 93.9 mph

Justin Faulk 95.0 mph, 94.9 mph
