"Our guys have played well enough that they deserve an addition," Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said, via the Mercury News.
After trading away Ryane Clowe to the Rangers on Tuesday night, Torres will replace that physicality down the lineup, and he has five more goals.
Begrudgingly, while they'll miss rooting against him, to Sharks fans, Torres can be more than a guy who serves long suspensions. From Fear the Fin:
While his underlying numbers are much worse so far this season, he is scoring at a 15-goal pace once again. Leaving emotions out of it, Torres is a player who could legitimately help the Sharks.
There's always the risk of suspension with Torres, but he only has 13 PIMs in 29 games this season, so maybe he's seen the same light Matt Cooke has?
One Milbury: The Coyotes are selling off their soon-to-be UFAs and get a high pick in exchange for a player who could be a much better asset than Ryane Clowe was this season for the Sharks.
