Rick Nash has hat trick, Joe Thornton has 4 points, HC Davos has their official scarf

Rick Nash and Joe Thornton debuted with HC Davos of the Swiss National League A on Saturday, with the expected results: They dominated.

Nash had a natural hat trick and added an assist. Thornton assisted on each of those goals and had another helper in the 9-2 victory over the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. (Their goaltending victim? Why, none other than former Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens keeper David Aebischer!)

Thus begins what should be a successful run for the duo in the Swiss League … and a profitable one for their Swiss team. HC Davos already has its online store flooded with Nash and Thornton swag:

The official scarves and hats cost roughly $37.55 US.

The T-shirts are just over $48 US. There are also Davos jerseys for the New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks stars; those set you back $190.

So yeah, pretty good short-term investment for Davos during the lockout.

Nash and Thornton played there during the last lockout, too. They did fairly well: Thornton led the team with 54 points in 40 games, while Nash had 47 points (including 27 goals) in 44 games, leading the team to the League title and the Spengler Cup.

NHL fans are hoping they don't get the chance to repeat the feat.
