Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1. Martin Brodeur continues to talk about being traded for some reason. Cory Schneider gets the start tonight for the Devils. He may also start Saturday. He'll likely be the team's no. 1 for the rest of the way. Where does that leave Brodeur? To talk about being traded of all things.

2. Jonathan Huberdeau will keep the gloves on. After his fight with Jake Gardiner earlier this week, the Panthers youngster said he won't make a happen of it going forward. His last fight came in junior and he ended up getting suspended for it.

3. Penguins dominant at home. A victory over the Rangers tonight and the Penguins will have won for the 17th time in 18 games at CONSOL Energy Center. They've been able to take care of business within the first 60 for the most part, with only two of their previous 16 home wins have gone past regulation.

4. No Patrick Kane for Blackhawks. Chicago will try to win their third straight game for the first time since Dec. 8-11 without Kane, who is home in Buffalo attending the funeral of his grandfather.

5. History for Todd McLellan. When he steps onto the San Jose bench tonight, McLellan will have coached his 435th game for the Sharks, a franchise record, passing Darryl Sutter.

Bold prediction: The Coyotes are the only home team that loses tonight.
