Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1) Bruins after ninth straight win. Boston is rolling. The Bruins have won eight in a row. The last time this city was on this kind of roll, they won independence from England. Good luck to Minnesota.

2) Hey, remember when the Lightning won the Cup? How fitting is this: with John Tortorella on the hot seat in Vancouver, the Canucks will visit Tampa Bay, who will be celebrating their Cup win from 10 years ago. If the Lightning use the motivation from the moment to win big and move the Canucks' playoff chances to 1.4%, do the Canucks leave Tortorella in Tampa Bay?

3) One might say the Ryan Miller era is going swimmingly. The Blues are 7-0-1 since acquiring Miller from the Sabres, and Miller himself is 6-0-1 over that span. Can the Jets hand the new Blues' starter his first regulation loss in the note?

4) More on the line for Phoenix than LA. The Kings are pretty well locked into that sixth seed in the West. The Coyotes, on the other hand, are desperately trying to grab the eight spot. A loss drops their chance at snagging it to just 32.3%, according to Sportsclubstats.
