12:45 p.m. EST (SL) --Scott Hannan to the Sharks is a done deal, pending the trade call. Hannan is a UFA this summer and comes with just a $1 million cap hit. He averaged 19:29 time on-ice through 29 games this season, but it was obvious he'd lost a step.

One Milbury: Both teams benefit. The Predators free up a spot on their blueline and grab a conditional 7th round pick, while Doug Wilson makes a low-risk, high-reward move. If he plays in a playoff game, the pick becomes a sixth-rounder. Hannan comes cheap and should things not work out, there's always waivers.

12:25 p.m. EST (SL) -- WE HAVE A TRADE TO ANNOUNCE! Boston sends Maxime Sauve goes to Chicago for Rob Flick, per Darren Dreger.

But seriously, there may be a trade coming with an actual NHL player involved. Pierre LeBrun reports the San Jose Sharks are close to acquiring Scott Hannan from the Nashville Predators. Sharks GM Doug Wilson said this morning he was looking to pick up a veteran defenseman and it looks like he'll fill that void with Hannan.

12:10 p.m. EST (SL) -- The waiver wire might be busier than the trade market today. Mike Santorelli stays in the Southeast Division going from the Florida Panthers to the Winnipeg Jets, and Adam Hall was claimed by the Philadelphia Flyers. If you're keeping track at home, Hall began the year in Tampa, was claimed on waivers by Carolina on March 16, then dealt yesterday back to the Lightning before heading to the Flyers today after going through waivers. Adam Hall is the new Zack Boychuk.

12 p.m. EST (SL) -- If you're looking to shore up your goaltending situation, Ottawa's Ben Bishop is looking more and more likely to be on the move today. With Craig Anderson returning from injury and Robin Lehner playing well, Bishop is expendable. The upcoming RFA has reportedly received interest from five teams, including the Phoenix Coyotes, according to Bob McKenzie. Mike Smith is set to be a UFA in the summer, but they would like to re-sign him soon. Bishop could make for a nice backup with Jason LaBarbera a UFA after the season.

As the Islanders fight for spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2007, a source tells Newsday's Arthur Staple that Garth Snow has inquired with Chicago about Brandon Saad, who has 17 points in his last 16 games. Given his upside, what would the high price be for Saad, and what would Snow be willing to part with in order to get into the playoffs?
