Pat Quinn has a lasting legacy with the Vancouver Canucks, having served as their president, general manager and head coach – the latter gig from 1990-96, including the team’s memorable run to the Stanley Cup Final in 1994.

Quinn died on Monday at 71, after battling a lengthy illness. Tributes from around the hockey world honored him, and the Canucks added their before Tuesday’s game vs. the New Jersey Devils.

The team had a moment of silence followed by the quintessential tribute to the gregarious Irishman: a rendition of “Danny Boy” as images of Quinn illuminated the ice. A roaring ovation followed from the fans.

The Canucks wore “PQ” decals on their jerseys in his honor during the game as well.

The team also set up a multimedia page that allowed fans to submit their text, audio and video tributes to Quinn.
