NHL Three Stars: Oshie leads Blues; Vinny the hero for Flyers

No. 1 Star: T.J. Oshie, St. Louis Blues

Oshie took two shots, the Blues scored two goals and Oshie had both of them, as St. Louis defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-1. Jaroslav Halak made 20 saves. The St. Louis crowd chanted "USA!" when Oshie scored and was assisted by fellow Olympians David Backes and Kevin Shattenkirk.

No. 2 Star: Vincent Lecavalier, Philadelphia Flyers

It was a bit of a chaotic night against the Buffalo Sabres, but Lecavalier’s goal with 15 seconds left in regulation gave the Flyers a 4-3 win. Scott Hartnell had a goal and two assists.

No. 3 Star: Semyon Varlamov, Colorado Avalanche

Varlamov made 46 saves, including four in overtime, as the Avs defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2. Tyson Barrie had the game winner in the extra session, his second of the game.

Honorable mention: Robin Lehner made 27 save for the shutout, as the Ottawa Senators topped the Minnesota Wild, 3-0. Clarke MacArthur had the game-winner. … Tyler Bozak had two goals and an assist as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins, 4-3. James Reimer Jonathan Bernier made 38 saves. Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist. … Second-period goals by Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov gave the Tampa Bay Lightning a 2-1 win over the New York Rangers. Ben Bishop made 33 saves. … Patrick Marleau’s shootout goal was the game-decider in the San Jose Sharks’ 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals. Antti Niemi made 35 saves, while Alex Ovechkin scored his 33rd. … Marty Brodeur outdueled Carey Price with 29 saves, as the New Jersey Devils topped the Montreal Canadiens, 4-1. … Scottie Upshall had a goal and an assist as the Florida Panthers (and former Islander Tim Thomas!) defeated the New York Islanders, 4-2. … David Legwand had three assists and Ryan Ellis had a goal and an assist in the Nashville Predators’ 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames. … The Dallas Stars snapped a 6-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Ryan Garbutt had a goal and two assists.
