No. 1 Star: David Krejci, Boston Bruins

The Bruins center victimized Tim Thomas twice and scored into an empty net as the Bruins rolled the Florida Panthers, 4-1. He led all skaters with seven shots on goal.

No. 2 Star: Michael Grabner, New York Islanders

Just in case you needed a reminder of Grabner’s blazing speed, he scored the game-winner in overtime for the Islanders by burning through the Winnipeg Jets’ defense. The Isles won, 3-2, despite two goals from Andrew Ladd.

No. 3 Star: Ales Hemsky, Edmonton Oilers

In what certainly felt like his swan song, Hemsky scored two goals and heard the crowd chant his name in the Oilers’ 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. Jordan Eberle had the eventual game winner. Here’s a beauty from “Hemmer”:

Honorable mention: Antoine Vermette scored his sixth goal in five games against the Vancouver Canucks in the Phoenix Coyotes’ 1-0 win. Mike Smith (23 saves) outdueled Eddie Lack (31 saves). … Martin Brodeur got what could be his final win for the New Jersey Devils, as Stephen Gionta’s deflection goal with 37 seconds remaining gave them a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings. … The Columbus Blue Jackets moved back into a playoff spot with a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars. Artem Anisimov had two goals, including one that snuffed out a Stars’ third-period rally. … Semyon Varlamov made 38 saves as the Colorado Avalanche topped the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-2. Erik Johnson had three assists. … The St. Louis Blues rallied from an 0-2 first-period hole to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4-2, giving Ryan Miller the win. Alex Steen, T.J. Oshie and Vladimir Tarasenko each had a goal and an assist. … Matt Niskanen scored two goals against a returning Pekka Rinne, as the Pittsburgh Penguins topped the Nashville Predators, 3-2. Sidney Crosby had three assists. … The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the San Jose Sharks, 3-2, as Jay Harrison broke a 2-2 tie in the third period an OT game-winner. Anton Khudobin made 37 saves and the Hurricanes rewarded him with a contract extension after the game. …

Did You Know? The Canucks used Pat Conacher, Jr. as their emergency backup goalie after the Luongo trade; the Oilers used university goalie Kurtis Mucha as theirs after the Bryzgalov trade.

Dishonorable mention: Duncan Keith was a minus-3. … Marty St. Louis was a minus-4. … Shea Weber picked up a misconduct near the end of the Preds’ game against the Pens. … The Jets lost second-line rookie center Mark Scheifele 11:18 into the second period after a collision with Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan.
