NHL Power Rankings: Canadiens top the poll; Ducks dive to bottom

(Ed. Note: Our power rankings run every Thursday. They encompass the last two weeks of games before Wednesday night's action.)

Determining the top team in our latest power rankings was easy. The Montreal Canadiens are off the a history-making start, with the best goalie in the world. They may not keep this pace up, but for now, they're the best in the NHL.

Filling in the spots behind them? A little tougher. Our power rankings were locked in before the Washington Capitals lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night. (RIVALRY NIGHT!) We'd still have them in the top five, but that was a dud against the Penguins.

That said, the Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and Nashville Predators are all solid picks for the top five.

At the bottom ... well, again, sorta easy when the Anaheim Ducks have been this bad.

Feel free to provide your own rankings in the comments section. See you in two weeks!
