Montreal bans P.K. Subban’s ‘triple-low 5′ celebration with Carey Price

P.K. Subban and Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens have their own unique post-game celebration called the "Triple-Low 5". Here it is on display:

Savor those 50 seconds because that's going to be the last time you see those two celebrate that way. With Subban rejoining the Canadiens this week after finally agreeing to terms on a new contract, head coach Michel Therrien has put his foot down on the "Triple-Low 5" and stressed it's about the team instead.

From the CBC:

Already, goalie Carey Price said the post-victory triple-low-five celebrations he used to do with Subban have been banned. Only team celebrations are now tolerated. The Canadiens this season skate to centre ice after wins and raise their sticks to the fans.

"It's a team concept," said Therrien of the team rule. "You have to respect the game, the other team and the fans.

"The way we decided to celebrate this year is to salute the fans because they deserve it."

The Fun Police is dominating NHL players early on this season.

Of course, the ban is silly. It happens after victories, not during games. It doesn't shine the spotlight so brightly on the two and take away anything from the team.

The Canadiens play Saturday and Sunday, but it's unknown if Subban will be in the lineup for one or both of the games. During Friday's practice he was paired with Francis Bouillon. Getting No. 76 into the lineup as soon as possible would a wise decision for the benefit of majority of the Habs lineup.
