Let Ray Charles, blind puppy, drop the puck at Bruins game you monsters
This is Ray Charles, a golden retriever puppy and burgeoning Internet star. Like his namesake, the dog is blind. He was born that way in December of 2012.
But it hasn't hurt his quality of life. Adopted by a Boston family, Ray Charles had a great first five months. I know because I, and you, can track the whole thing on his Facebook page, which has racked up over 15,000 Likes at the time of this writing.
Turns out people love puppies. Write that down.
But, for as much as the Internet loves Ray Charles, Ray Charles loves the Bruins. It's the blind dog's dream -- as well as the dream of his owners, one presumes -- for the retriever to drop the puck at a Boston Bruins playoff game.
Now there's a petition to make it happen.
"Ray Charles may not have his sight," it reads, "But we can still show him how much he means to all of us! Help Ray Charles drop the puck at a Boston Bruins game and keep helping to enrich the wonderful dog's life!"

The petition opened Sunday and has since gained more than 720 signatures, with a target of 2,000 in sight. Considering iPetition's lack of any restrictive timeline, plus Ray Charles's growing Internet popularity (he's gained more than 1,000 Facebook fans in the time it's taken me to write this article), it's a safe bet that the little golden retriever will hit the 2,000 signature target by week's end.
If and when the petition reaches its goal, I think it's safe to say the Boston Bruins have no choice but to do as it says, lest word gets around that THEY HATE BLIND PUPPIES.
Granted, Jeremy Jacobs probably does hate blind puppies. But that's likely best kept under wraps.
