Jason Zucker's head hits ice after big hit by Michal Rozsival (Video)

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker took a big hit from Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival and had to leave their outdoor game at TCF Bank Stadium in the second period.

After the check by Rozsival, Zucker’s head hit the ice and he sprawled, seeming dazed with several teammates looking on in concern. Zucker was helped off the makeshift rink at the football field. He was then led to a cart that took him from the field area.

The Wild said Zucker was questionable for a return with an upper body injury. Rozsival was given a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct.

Rozsival seemed to not leave his feet or use his elbow on the hit. He followed through as Zucker was bending down after playing the puck.

A year ago, Zucker notched a career-high with 21 goals in 51 games played. He has 12 goals and 10 assists in 57 games played this season.

Currently the Wild are beating the Blackhawks 4-0 after two periods of play. Minnesota forward Jason Pominville has scored one goal and added two assists. Teammate Nino Niederreiter also scored a goal and has an assist.
