The 22-year old Voracek has signed a 4-year deal worth $17 million, according to CSN Philadelphia's Tim Panaccio via iSport. On Wednesday, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said that retaining Voracek was "only a matter of time" and that he sees him playing alongside Claude Giroux next season.
From the Flyers:
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed 6-2, 214-pound forward Jakub Voracek to a multi-year contract extension, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.
"We are happy to have Jake under contract and look forward to him being a big part of our future," said Holmgren.
Voracek came to Philadelphia as part of the Jeff Carter deal last summer and signed a 1-year deal with the team last July 1. He'll get a $2 million raise from last season's $2.25 million salary after posting 49 points, including a career high 18 goals. Being Giroux's wingman should help with an increase in production.
