Hockey video classic: Watch Muskegon Lumberjacks rescue broken Zamboni
Once in a while, you stumble on YouTube gold, and this qualifies. The year was 1992. The team was the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League, facing the Kansas City Blades.
The problem? The Zamboni broke down while resurfacing the ice, and the jeep wheeled out to rescue it wasn’t … well, doing much rescuing. The solution? LUMBERJACKS, ASSEMBLE:

Some great vamping from the announcers on this clip, by the way, speculating that rescuing a broken down Zamboni is beneficial to everything from team building to better fitness. Muskegon went on to win, 1-0. Maybe they’re on to something. Or maybe not: The San Francisco Bulls also rescued a Zamboni last year in much the same manner, and lost their ECHL game, 7-0.
