Hershey Bears show Harold Reynolds that Canadians can catch a baseball (Video)

On Sunday MLB Network/Fox Sports baseball analyst Harold Reynolds intimated Canadians couldn’t catch foul balls because only a few grew up playing baseball.

This happened during Game 3 of the American League Division Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers. Whether Reynolds was joking or not, it drew the wrath of many Canadians who ripped Reynolds on social media – enough for Reynolds to issue an apology. The Blue Jays are in the playoffs for the first time since 1993.

"I didn't mean to offend anybody. I just thought it was just part of the fun nature of the game. Sorry, Canada, whole country, if I offended you for that. I'm well aware of the baseball players that have come out of there ... It was more of a joke. Most people grew up playing hockey in Canada. I didn't think it was that offensive, so obviously I was taken different."

Many hockey players love the Blue Jays since they are Canada’s only MLB team. And some are trying to show Reynolds that they indeed know how to catch a baseball.

Check out Liam O’Brien and Madison Bowey of the Hersey Bears throwing a baseball around on the ice.

That is an incredibly hard task, especially since they're wearing skates and not cleats. You can’t exactly plant your feet when you throw and catch on skates. O'Brien hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia while Bowie is from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

For those wondering, here is an all-time list of all MLB players who were born in Canada. There are a total of 244.
