Georgia Tech takes advantage of winter storm, skates on campus fountain (Video)

Atlanta was pounded with a snow storm that dropped approximately three inches of snow that froze the city and saw drivers abandoned their cars on roadways. The freak storm created an opportunity for members of the Georgia Tech's men's hockey team.

Taking advantage of a snow day from class Wednesday, a few teammates met up at the Kessler Campanile to skate on the frozen fountain that surrounds the bell on campus.

Via 11 Alive:

"It was a snow day at Tech, so admittedly we weren't doing much," said C.J. Layer, a senior from Illinois majoring in materials science and engineering. "We got there and tested the ice, threw on the skates and started passing a puck around and doing some stick and puck tricks."

It's no skating on the Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., but at least they found better ice than Honda Center.
