Watch Stan Fischler eat his own hat because Ryan Callahan was traded (Video)
Back on March 2, long-time MSG Network analyst and hockey author Stan Fischler doubled down on his prediction that New York Rangers captain Ryan Callahan would remain on Broadway and not be dealt by the March 5 NHL trade deadline.
Well, we all know how that went.
Fischler said that if Callahan was no longer a Ranger after the trade deadline, he would eat a hat covered in maple syrup on air.
Saturday night was his day of reckoning, along with the hat's.
It's good that Fischler, who once called this blog "uproarious," was a good sport about it and made good on his promise. It reminded us of when Edmonton Sun columnist Terry Jones literally ate his words stating that the Oilers wouldn't finish 30th in the NHL in 2011.
Now. Stan, about that Rangers-Bruins series prediction from last season...
