Evgeny Timkin’s goal of the year contender for KHL’s Vityaz Chekhov (Video)

Turns out that beyond all the carnival pugilism on the KHL's Vityaz Chekhov are players like Evgeny Timkin, the 21-year-old forward who pulled off this goal of the year contender in a 2-1 victory over CSKA Moscow on Thursday.

At the very least, it could be a shorthanded goal of the year candidate. Timkin also played for the ECHL's Mississippi RiverKings and Florida Everblades in recent years.

That's CSKA defenseman Igor Ozhiganov being victimized on the spin-o-rama — not exactly the most experienced fella on the power play — and goalie Rastislav Stana being beaten with the between the legs shot.

By the way, remember when Vityaz was a goon squad? Not a fight in this game, or in their previous game. Clearly, Timkin scored to help them maintain their YouTube quotas.
