Dustin Penner’s departure from the Anaheim Ducks almost caused Brian Burke and Kevin Lowe to fight inside of a barn. He only spent two seasons there, capping off the 2006-07 campaign with 29 goals and a Stanley Cup title.

Six years later, Penner is going back to the Ducks after signing a one-year, $2 million deal on Tuesday, according to Eric Stephens of the OC Register. The 30-year old had spent the past two and a half seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, with such notable highlights like getting injured while eating pancakes; causing Kings general manager Dean Lombardi to drop some golden quotes; and turning in a solid playoff beard.

Lombardi filled his roster enough that there was no more room for Penner, who despite 11 goals in 112 regular season games with LA, turned on the offensive switch come playoff time.

Two questions now come to mind with this signing: Will Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau reunite the "Kid Line" of Penner, Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf that was so successful in 2007? And is Boudreau familiar with the El Cid Lounge should Penner go into one of his famous offensive funks next season?
