Preview: Anaheim Ducks at Dallas Stars, 8:30 p.m. ET. Whatever goaltending controversy that may be brewing in Anaheim continues tonight as Jonas Hiller attempts to plead his case following rookie Viktor Fasth's red-hot start. Newly-acquired Ben Lovejoy will also be in the Ducks' lineup as they go for their fifth straight win. Alex Goligoski will be back on the Dallas blueline after being a healthy scratch against Edmonton on Wednesday. How might the Stars look to gain an advantage? By watching film of Teemu Selanne. How else would you stop the "Finnish Highlander"?
• Caps GM George McPhee on his team's start: "I think the only – the two areas we must get better is keeping pucks out of our net and it starts by not taking penalties and protecting the goalies more. And they’ve got to be better." He almost said he doesn't have any plans to blow up the roster in light of the team's recent struggles. [Washington Post]
• The Bruins are hoping to wrap up a contract extension with goaltender Tuukka Rask sometime before the regular season ends. [CSNNE]
• Todd Bertuzzi will miss Detroit's game on Saturday against the Oilers with a back injury. Joakim Andersson has been recalled. [MLive]
Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: Big Rich on Lambert's Team USA Sochi roster:
"What, no Jagr?"
Never gets old.
Prediction: The Ducks see their win streak come to an end thanks to a 4-2 loss to the Stars. Put us down for two Jaromir Jagr goals.
