Canadian women’s hockey team leaves note encouraging men ahead of USA battle (Photo)

The Canadian women's hockey team showed zero quit Thursday, winning gold in a dramatic, come-from-behind overtime victory over the United States.

But they weren't done there. With another matchup between Canada and the USA set for Friday, this time between the men, the women decided their male counterparts could use a little advice from a bunch of champions. When Sidney Crosby and company entered their dressing room for the game, they found this note waiting for them:

The girls, in this case, were Hayley Wickenheiser, Brianne Jenner, and goaltender Shannon Szabados.

Often times, comparing a male hockey player to a woman is a lazy, derogatory remark. It shouldn't be, and especially not after the fight shown by the women on Thursday. Now it's the thing to do.

Coach Mike Babcock's message for his team prior to the opening face-off couldn't have been simpler: play like our women. And it worked, as the men defeated the U.S. 1-0 to move on to Sunday's gold medal game.
