Cam Atkinson nets a hat trick and another kid gets a puppy (Video)
One day after Bobby Ryan of the Ottawa Senators made one young fan happy by scoring a goal and ensuring a puppy for their household, the trick worked Monday night in Columbus.
A Columbus Blue Jackets fan thought, “Why not me?” and brought a sign to Nationwide Arena that read “Dad Said If 13 Scores On My Birthday We Get A Dog.” No. 13 for the Blue Jackets is Cam Atkinson.
Well, whatever magical powers these signs hold, it worked as Atkinson scored late in the first period.
Atkinson wasn't done there. He might have won the girl a litter of puppies as he finished the night with a hat trick during a 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
