This is very close to being the coldest game of Peyton Manning's NFL career, in fact.
The coldest game Manning has started before Saturday was 12 degrees, at Buffalo in 2009. The Broncos announced that the temperature for kickoff is 13 degrees.
The good news for both offenses is there is barely any wind and no precipitation. And without much humidity, it isn't the type of debilitating cold weather you'll find in Green Bay.
But it is cold, and unusually so for Colorado. This is the fourth-coldest game in Broncos history, home or away. It is the second-coldest home game in team history. The coldest was against San Diego on Dec. 10, 1972 at Mile High Stadium.
The key will be how Manning handles the cold. As we've heard, he is 0-3 in playoff games in which the temperature is less than 40. Back in that 12-degree game at Buffalo, he was 14-of-18, but for just 95 yards on a snowy day before he was replaced.
