Watch the Vince Lombardi Trophy make its way through the gauntlet of Giants

Though the New York Giants and New England Patriots provided several memorable images during the Giants 21-17 Super Bowl win, the trophy presentation provided images just as indelible. It was so touching that it might have kicked up a little dust in your household.

[ Video: Check out all of the Super Bowl ads ]

Raymond Berry, a Hall-of-Fame receiver for the Baltimore Colts, walked through a gauntlet of Giants players with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Each player, still heady with the fact that they had achieved their team's ultimate goal, reached out to the trophy as Berry passed by. Starting with Justin Tuck, several Giants even leaned down to kiss the trophy.

Though it's not as tradition-bound as NHL players skating around with the Stanley Cup, the look on each Giant's face as the trophy went near them still reflected every bit of emotion the team felt over the course of the season.

It was pretty cool to see all the Giants touching and kissing the trophy but who in the hell were all those other people? Especially that asian guy who was video taping himself kissing the trophy. Kick all the nobody's out and let the players enjoy their moment.

Why can't it be the Giants won the Super Bowl without somebody trashing them? Must be Patriot fans. Better luck next time. Lost in all the shuffle is this Giants team is the first single-digit regular season winning team to win the Super Bowl (strike seasons not counted).

Some of you have no idea what a great wide receiver Raymond Berry was. He and Johnny Unitas are #4 in the NFL All Time Pass Combos. From 1955 to 1967 he played for the Baltimore Colts, and at that time lead the league in receptions and caught a record 631 passes for 9,275 yards and 68 touchdowns. He's in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The gentleman is 78 years old so lighten up on your creepy comments please.

They have been doing this Grand Entrance for 3 or 4 years now, but this one was somewhere between bizarre and slightly obscene at times. Some of the players acted like the trophy was a stripper at a bachelor party. And did Berry blink even once during that entire walk?

Absolutely right! I kept waiting for Jerry Sandusky to show up! It was just really creepy.

When the Giants first dumped Gatorade on Bill Parcells everyone said it was the stupidest thing they had ever seen, and now everyone else does it. You watch, I guarantee that from now on, this touch or kiss the Lombardi trophy as it passes will be something done by the players of every winning Super Bowl team...not that I think that's a good thing.

Berry's walk was indeed creepy ! I wish he would have said "%$#@ it, the hell with this," thrown the trophy, and walked away!

i am not sure Berry was alive. Did anyone else think that at home. Or maybe hewas in stock that he was involed in another pats lose.

He was the coach of that first Patriot team that lost to the 85-86 Bears. It must have burned him no end to give up the Lombardi Trophy to another team beating the Patriots.

Hey, so are we going to put the asterik next to the Giants win? Hmmmm? I mean, they had 9 home games, yes, nine, and it is not the first time it has happened either. So, does anyone here think that playing 3 games at HOME to end the season might have given the Giants an advantage that no other team recieved? I do. And don't try to tell me different, they played in THEIR STADIUM, THEIR LOCKER ROOM, AND THEIR FANS, yet were called the away team and the Jets were the Home team. Something smells and it's the Giant's schedule. Who else in the league gets this gift? Answer, no One!

        Bitter much?

Besides, we all know that the NFL coddles the Steelers.

How many other teams had to play the Packers, Saints, Pats, AND Niners? Plus Jets Cowboys x2 & Eagles x2, no slouches there. Our schedule was easy? Please...

I thought the "walk of the trophy" was creepy! And it took forever. Who produced this after game segment, what were they thinking?

      Creepy.
"Hey, let's have a confused, old guy with a toupee walk a phallic symbol through a bunch of sweaty guys to kiss and stroke it."

Tom Brady will never win another superbowl since he left a pregnant Moynahan to that ugly Brazilian horse. BTW, Brady not welcome in Buffalo.

I was looking for someone specific in the video - but he was in the part they cut out (coming through the Giants, just before the "stairs") - Grrrr

Couldn't agree more Sandbag Six and Gary. Creepy is the word. It was like Veneration of The Cross or something! Actually KISSING a trophy-and reaching out to touch it as it went by. Yuk! I watched with disgust and disbelief while saying ewww-soooo weird!

The Lombardi Trophy is worthy of that entrance.

Maggie, the word is "gantlet". A gauntlet is a leather glove often covered in chain-mail; a gantlet is a double line of people, usually assembled to mete out punishment to a person who has to try to run between the lines.. I really do wish that media people would learn which words to use, but then I realize that these are journalists, and most of them learned neither proper spelling nor grammar.
