You get the feeling that if the Denver Broncos do win a Super Bowl this season, there might be two parades. One for the Broncos in Colorado, and another for Peyton Manning in Indianapolis.
The Colts fans still love Manning, and rightfully so. He brought a Super Bowl to Indianapolis. He made the Colts a winner. When he left, it was out of his control. He just got injured.
Not surprisingly, the Colts fans gave Manning a touching standing ovation before his long-anticipated return to Indianapolis. And Manning, whose focus on the game is well known, took the time to acknowledge the crowd's applause. He waved to them, as the ovation and the tribute lingered in the moments before kickoff.
Once the game started, the Colts fans got loud anytime Manning wanted to change the play at the line of scrimmage – they aren't going to turn their backs on the home team, after all – but the great scene before the game was a memorable one for Manning and the fans who wanted to thank him for all he did for the franchise.
