At NFL training camps, optimism is riding high among fans. The grass is green. "This could be the year everything changes," they tell themselves. "It's just gonna take a whole lotta heart." It's hard not to get wrapped up in the emotions. Just ask Washington Redskins fan Josh Firestone.

According to Twitter posts from the team's official account and local NBC12 sports photographer Dwight Nixon, Firestone proposed to girlfriend Halley Weinstein moments after Friday's practice in Richmond, Va. On bended knee and decked out in a DeAngelo Hall jersey, Firestone delivered the engagement ring in front of a "Virginia is for lovers" sign outside Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center.

While many women may not have been thrilled at the thought of starting a life together outside training camp for a team that finished 3-13 last season (ahem), it appears Firestone made a fine choice. She accepted his offer, and he has a built-in reason to be inside watching football every Sunday.

Afterwards, the couple's favorite player, Hall, posed for a photo with the future Mr. and Mrs. Firestone.

Congratulations, guys.

P.S. Pay no attention to the Porta Potties behind the giant "LOVE" structure in the engagement photo.
