After scoring the game-clinching touchdown, Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee(notes) sent one last salvo to the Kansas City Chiefs fans who were about to file out of Arrowhead Stadium: He mocked them with their signature tomahawk chop:
Chiefs fans, you're great -- maybe the best in the NFL. But the tomahawk chop was played out by the time the Atlanta Braves, who had stolen it from Florida State, won the World Series in 1995. It's a third-handed cheer that's older than a lot of the players who took the field in Sunday's game. Rituals like that deserve to be mocked.
Baltimore defeated the AFC West champion Chiefs, 30-7. The chippy affair featured numerous post-play scuffles which led referee Mike Carey to warn both coaches to have their players calm down.
