"Teams aren't really scared of him anymore. He's had to earn his money this year." -- Victor Cruz on Darrelle Revis, this week
"I don't know the guy very well." -- Revis, in response.
"He let a guy named Victor Cruz come in and take his job." -- Antonio Cromartie, reacting to comments made by Giants WR Mario Manningham
Suffice it to say, the New York Jets know who Victor Cruz is now.
During the New York-New York Christmas Eve matchup, the second-year wideout from Massachusetts caught a short Eli Manning pass and turned it into a 99-yard touchdown. The play set a Giants record for longest pass play and tied an all-time NFL mark. It would also prove to be the decisive score in the crucial game.
Cromartie, in particular, should have an excellent idea of who No. 80 is now. He got a great view of the name on the back of his jersey for about 75 yards.
