Houston Texans fans finally cheered quarterback Matt Schaub on Sunday.

Unfortunately, for Schaub, that applause occurred after he left a 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams with a leg injury.

Schaub limped off the field after a hit in the third quarter and was replaced by backup T.J. Yates. Schaub previously set an NFL record with an interception returned for a touchdown in four consecutive games, and was optimistic that streak would end on Sunday.

That streak ended after Schaub’s injury, but that is when the celebration began.

Texans wide receiver wasn't too happy about it after the game:

Shortly after Yates took over, he attempted a pass to tight end Garrett Graham that was intercepted by Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree. Ogletree proceeded to return that interception 98 yards for a touchdown. It marked the fifth straight game an opponent returned an interception for a touchdown against Houston.

To make matters worse, Yates threw another interception in the fourth quarter.

Texans fans may have applauded Schaub’s injury, but their entire team is hurting judging by Sunday’s performance against the St. Louis Rams.
