Suspension looming? Brandon Meriweather could be in trouble with yet another big hit

If Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather is in line for a suspension, he doesn't seem too concerned about it, unless joking about a potential NFL fine constitutes worry.

Meriweather, who has a history of dirty hits and fines from the NFL, could be in line for further discipline. His hit Sunday on Chicago Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery, with Meriweather using the crown of his helmet to Jeffery's chest, might be the straw that breaks the back.

Earlier this season, Meriweather was fined $42,000 for a hit on Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy that many thought was suspension-worthy. Of course, the league has not had much success executing suspensions for illegal hits, with repeat offenders Dashon Goldson and Ed Reed avoiding them after initially being cost a game's time.

The Meriweather case should be interesting this week, especially with him seeming to laugh about it in the locker room afterwards.
