(Getty)Despite rumors and hopes of football-crazed Republican delegates, Tim Tebow will not be making an appearance at the Republican National Convention. Though he is not expected to play during the Jets' preseason finale against Philadelphia on Thursday night, he is also not expected to make an appearance at the final night of the RNC.
I've been told Tim Tebow will be atJets-Eagles gm tonight. He isn't going to speak at the Republican National Convention (as rumored) #nyj

As Pro Football Talk notes, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson is a Mitt Romney supporter, so it's not out of the realm of possibility to think that he would allow Tebow to miss the final game. Tebow is popular with conservatives for his support of groups such as Focus on the Family.
But considering how the Jets have struggled with team cohesion issues in the recent past, it would not be smart for any player to miss a game right now.
