Think you're a good fan of your team? Yeah? Tim Connors of Edmonds, Wash., has you beat. He's gotten a tattoo naming his beloved Seattle Seahawks the Super Bowl XLVIII champs before they've even reached the game. Moreover, he didn't just get the tattoo this week. No, he inked up at the beginning of the season.
"I'm not crazy," Connors told KOMO News, "I'm not crazy at all." Which is a nice sentiment, but it's also worth noting that most people who aren't crazy don't even need to say so.
According to Connors, about 95 percent of Seahawks fans are impressed with the tattoo, and only about 5 percent think he's jinxed the team by counting his Lombardis before they're hoisted. However, we'd guess that about 100 percent of the people who saw his tattoo would not follow in his footsteps.
Connors isn't the first fan to go all-in for his team. Last year, a Chicago Blackhawks fan had "2013" tattooed onto the Stanley Cup on his arm before the conclusion of the NHL Finals. Fortunately for that fellow, the Blackhawks took care of business and won the Cup.
It's just Connors' bad luck that the Roman numeral 48 can't be easily converted to anything else. If he'd waited two years and gotten a Super Bowl L tattoo, he'd have been able to adjust that as necessary, like rewriting an old girlfriend's name, for half a century.
On the other hand, he could probably convert that tattoo to a Bronco if necessary. Just saying.
