Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman finally met an opponent he could not stop.
Sherman injured himself breaking up a pass to Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas with a little more than 11 minutes remaining in the game. He sustained an ankle injury, was carted off the field and taken to Seattle’s locker room. Seattle had a 43-8 advantage when Sherman exited the game.
The injury was probably bitter-sweet for Sherman.
He spent the afternoon shutting down any receiver who lined up against him. Sherman’s presence led to Denver’s three turnovers prior to his injury. There is no way Sherman wanted to leave the field on during the Super Bowl like that.
However, his team dominated Denver, and it will be much easier to rehabilitate that ankle during the offseason after Sunday’s performance
